Planning meeting at CCC

Day 18 - Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Today we all met at Chris’s hosts house, Curt and Carol Casion to do some planning for the District Conference and to catch up on the Blog. Glen decided he was too cool to hang out with us and did his own thing, heading off with Henry to visit some logging areas and a bit of vocational work.

When Carol first said “Hi” Will knew immediately that she wasn’t a local. Is she a New Zealander? Is she a Pom? Has she just been here for too long? It turns out that she’s from Perth W.A but has been in the US for over 20 years. She certainly doesn’t sound American, but you couldn’t call it an Australian accent either. She was a fantastic host and made us a delicious Vegan Lasagna which has probably been the most healthiest meal we’ve eaten here so far!

In the afternoon, Will went to his host (Paula) business to help set up a new colour photocopier. He got it working ok, and only had it broken for a couple of minutes which apparently wasn’t too bad. The rest of us headed to Starbucks and then perused the shopping centre until we were picked up by my host, Judy Delbon.

That night, the group (except for Will) went to Judy’s house and we had the most fabulous dinner! We had Pozole, a chicken and pork stew which you add cold condiments, and Gazpacho, a cold Spanish Soup made with tomato. Will had dinner with his hosts and some of their friends and missed out, but I'm sure he had fun.
